Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a combat sport that descends from Judo
BJJ promotes the concept that a person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique to submit the opponent using limb locks or chokes and strangles.
In our BJJ classes we cover standing grappling as well as floor work.
The syllabus promotes use of different grappling theories including Wrestling, Judo and BJJ to provide a grappling style that can be easily tailored to the different rulesets one might find when competing, wether its Gi, No-gi grappling, submission wrestling or MMA.. This has been proven by The Lab's competing team, winning numerous British Titles in MMA, as well as BJJ, and medalling in every competition entered. We are constantly testing and reevaluating what we teach, hence the name The Lab.
